21 Jan Top 5 tips of Prospecting in Network Marketing
Prospecting is the key to success in Network Marketing if it is done in the right way.
Here are the Top 5 tips for better Prospecting in Network Marketing
- Dress Smartly
People will judge you no matter who you are. And the first thing they notice in you is what you are wearing. It is not necessary that you wear formals all the time, even if you wear semi formals it should be decent enough.
2. Ask Questions
I can understand that people will judge you but remember that you don’t need to judge your prospect, no matter how they look and how they talk to you. Ask them questions that are simple to answer but requires more than a Yes or No.
Ask them what they do?
How they are doing it?
Do they think that their current work will help them in reaching their goals in life? etc.
You can also ask them
What they want in their life?
Have they thought of making the best of their spare time?
Have they thought of earning money to supplement their job?
Are they open for a business opportunity that won’t affect their daily routine but can help them in earning a handsome income?
Ask relevant questions if you think that it is the right thing to do until they start talking openly and freely.
Make sure not to overdo it and only ask questions that are relevant to the current prospect. There is nothing called one set fits all.
Focus on the value that you can share with them that may change their situation.
3. Listen Actively
Don’t talk too much about yourself, let your prospect speak for himself. You’ll learn a lot more about your prospect by listening than you will by talking.
Don’t pretend that you are listening, people will sense it. Take a genuine interest in what your prospect is saying, while listening makes sure to keep a smiling face.
After some time of asking questions and listening, your prospect will likely to start sharing the things you didn’t expect.
After listening and knowing why they need to join the business you can pitch your business plan to them.

4. Present your business plan clearly
If possible, make a visually appealing presentation using PowerPoint and then print it and then show it to your prospect. If you have a tablet you can directly show the presentation on it.
When you create a presentation, make sure that all the things are labelled clearly and create it by keeping your prospect in mind.
Make it short, if possible so that it won’t bore your prospect.
In the presentation along with your business plan, you can also include some testimonials, pictures of the events, seminars, workshops, training programs that you have attended. Also include pictures of successful people in your business.
After showing the presentation, ask the prospect “what was the best part he like in the presentation?”
After you ask that question, sit there and don’t say a word. Wait for the prospect to respond.
If he looks excited, ask closing question and fix up the next appointment.
5. Don’t push your prospects
If they are really not interested, don’t push them. Politely thank them for giving you time for showing the opportunity. Always respect their decision. But remember to keep the door open. Just because they tell you “NO” today doesn’t mean they won’t join your team a few months or years from now. So, keep their contact information and get in touch with them often. Always be a professional.
I always believed that people have the right to their own opinion. And just because they don’t believe in your opportunity like you do, doesn’t mean you should make them feel bad, or give them a hard time. That’s one of the reasons our industry gets such as bad reputation because so many distributors are unprofessional with their prospects.
Prospecting can be fun when you start doing it in right way. It just takes time and practice.
